It is generally considered more objective and concerned with quantities that are physically measured like weight, temperature, speed, length etc.

Qualitative Data Analysis:

Qualitative data analysis is concerned with the data that cannot be quantified. The attributes of quality data analysis are that it can be subjective, exploratory, descriptive and non-statistical. It can be used to contemplate on various subjects and usually considered deeper than quantitative data analysis. It can bring into consideration questions like “why” the objects or participant has certain qualities and bring insight about the philosophical or social issues.

SPSS – Statistical Package for the Social Sciences:
